Traditional Chinese characters are the result of the historical evolution of Chinese languages and scripts . It is a form of art, with meaning behind it, which is considered as one of the vital cultural tools to pass on to future generations. In Taiwan, they not only inherit the essence of the traditional Chinese characters but it is also a place where people are encouraged to express freely using traditional Chinese characters.

The goal of Sydney Art of Traditional Chinese Characters program is to inspire young children and adults to discover and develop the deep understanding of the cultural richness of the traditional Chinese characters. Furthermore, throughout a series of interactive activities, it is an ideal cultural exchange opportunity for the general public to share and learn from each others.

 (2)  Poster Specification and submission

1.   Poster size : All entries are submit in Vertical  A2 size,  42x 59.4cm, can be various colours,  On the edge of Poster  leave 2cm inward space and stick black poster paper  on the edge as a Poster framework . creative artwork inside the framework. Please do not state your name on the artwork and attached Contestant Detail and consent declaration at the back of the artwork for your entries. Artworks can be made by Hand craft, Paper Clip Art and painting.  Attached Registration form on the back of  Artwork instead of name.
2.  Submit venue :  Culture Center of OCAC in Sydney,  Level 6, 8 Thomas St. CHATSWOOD NSW 2067 AUSTRALIA，Phone : 02-9410-0088  and must sent an e-mail notification:           satc2018@gmail.com
3. Submission date : open until  23th Feb 2018 Friday at 4pm (last submission will not be accepted )

Entries will be judged by the following:

  (4)  Exhibition : Entries Artwork Display 

Submitted Poster will display on event date at North Ryde School of Arts Hall  .

Students are invite to participate various cultural workshop according to time schedule by 2018 Sydney Art of Traditional Character Festival.

Exhibition Time : 7^th April , 2018  10:30am ~ 4pm

  (5)  Award:

The winner will be notified by end of March , 2018.

Awards ceremony will be held at North Ryde School of Arts Hall .

[Chinese Characters Contest]  

(1)  Theme  :

　　　

To encourage and Inspire students to  recognizing traditional Chinese characters in fun and creative way .  

(2)  Contest :

        i.            Contest run by Individual  or by Group.(5 people in group, open to First 20 group).  

       ii.            Contestants check in time  9:30am for 10:20am Contest Start.

     iii.            Check in Venus :  North Ryde School of Art Halls. 201 Coxs Road, North Ryde,   

     iv.            Characters Content Range: within OCAC Chinese Characters Text books Grade from 1-6.  please see attachment (1) .

     v.            Series of contest combined with Characters contests.

     vi.          Registration Due Date : Open till 23th Feb 2018 Friday at 4pm, ( Group registration for only first 20 groups., please register as soon as possible. ) 

 (3) Award :

Contestants who are the winner of first 7 preliminary contests will be offered a chance to enter a lucky draw to win prize and entitled to enter the final 5 contests , (time countdown contests), depending on each of the result , the first 3 winners will be chosen and given certificates of honour.

•If you use any images you haven’t created by yourself you must abide and recognise copyright ownership for the images or have permission to use them in your design.

•Late entries will not be accepted. The competition winner shall assign to  Sydney Art of Traditional Chinese Characters (SATC) in perpetuity of all full copyright in the poster and image for future advertising or news publication purpose.

•Entry forms must provide complete contact information: your name, name of school, telephone, and email. Incomplete information may cause your entry to be disqualified.

•The winner will be notified by telephone and or email by the end of March , 2018.

•SATC will endeavour to protect all poster entered however ATCC will not assume responsibility for any loss or damage of poster after exhibition and judging. Candidates are requested to collect their poster with receipt docket on 7 April 2018 before 4pm at Venus . The uncollected poster will be regarded as disclaiming liability.  SATC  will either contact school respective or have the right to dispose of it as it sees fit.

•SATC may update the terms and conditions from time to time without prior notice and have the right to terminate, modify or suspend this activity.
